Vision

Community Family Services of Ontario is recognized as the premier provider of family services to support our community, where all families live in a safe and harmonious environment.

Mission

We help build a safe and harmonious community by providing professional counselling, settlement, disabilities, and special needs services to individuals and families in need.

Milestones

2020s

Continued growth in programs for newcomers, youth, seniors, and multi-ethnic communities, reinforcing CAM as a welcoming hub for immigrants in the Greater Toronto Area.

2010s

Expanded cultural events and community programs, including New Year celebrations, Mid-Autumn Festival, Hong Kong Festival, Rainbow Festival, and Dragon Boat races.

2009

Moved to a larger 5,600 sq. ft. facility at 16 Golden Square to accommodate expanding programs and services.

1994–Present

Became a regular participant in Carassauga, Mississauga’s largest multicultural festival, hosting the Chinese Pavilion every year.

1994

Launched the federally funded LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) program; first class began on September 19 with over 30 students.

1993

Opened first permanent premises at 80 Golden Square; grand opening attended by Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion and over 500 guests.

1987

Registered as a charitable non-profit organization with the Canada Revenue Agency on May 3.

1982

Chinese Association of Mississauga (CAM) officially established on January 23 to promote Chinese culture and provide community services.
